In a communiqué released by the Geneva local government, 2012 was a great year for the new label which aims at combatting long-term unemployment. In December alone 9 new companies joined the program bringing the total up to 29. Since it was launched in May with just 6 companies participating, this CSR initiative is on its way to rapidly becoming a “must have” for employers in Geneva. The 9 companies that signed up in December were:
- Hélio Rapide SA.
- Mathys SA
- EMS Résidence de Saconnay
- Association
- Saint-Boniface
- Association Savoir Patient
- Art & D SA
- Aéroport International de Genève (AIG)
- Transvoirie SA
- Induni & Cie SA
Since the creation of the label and thanks to the 29 participants 56 people who had been categorised as long-term unemployed, which traditionally is seen as un-employable, have gained permanent employment. The label creates a win-win situation as the company gets its demand for qualified labour fulfilled and in addition, they hire someone who is highly motivated, and the employee returns to the world of work and can rid himself/herself of the stigma of long-term unemployment.
The 29 companies that have joined the label so far are:
