McDonald’s & Snapchat – or how to apply for a job in 10 seconds

Big companies are always looking for different ways to optimize the job application process. One of the most innovative has been created just recently, thanks to a collaboration between the reputable social media platform Snapchat and the market-leading fast food chain McDonald's.

If you live in Australia and you would like to work for McDonald’s, you can look for your new career using a “Snaplication”. The process is easy: the first step is to download the application Snapchat. While using a special McDonald’s-themed filter, the potential candidates can try on the uniform and apply for a new job by sending a 10-second video.

This is, of course, only  the first step of the recruiting process. After reviewing the application, McDonald’s will direct users back to the digital careers center where the official application form is available. Once they complete it, they might have impressed the recruiters enough to meet one of them.

In Australia, approximately 106,000 people are employed by McDonald’s, and 65% of them are under the age of 18. More than 4 million Australians use Snapchat daily. The majority of them are young people.

If this is not the best way how to find new employees, it could definitely be a way to increase the brand's visibility.
