In a recent article, we mentioned the data breach of 50 million Facebook users. Unfortunately, the illegal use of customer data and the lack of privacy protection is an ongoing problem at Facebook.
InRate, a Swiss based company that provides company sustainability ratings, has now definitively excluded Facebook from its list of sustainable companies.
Indeed, due to its controversial behavior with customer data and lack of investment transparency, Facebook has been in InRate's sights for a long time. InRate's financial sustainability evaluation combined with the Impact Investing analysis resulted in their decision not to recommend Facebook to investors looking for a 'sustainablity' investment.
