
Statistics released by the Swiss government today show significant growth in 7 out of 9 export sectors in January. With a surplus of CHF 2.1bn, markets in North America and the EU saw the greatest growth while both imports and exports from and to Japan fell by double digits.
For the first time in 17 months, the sale of textile machinery improved while the tobacco, food and drinks sector strengthened its position by gaining more than 20% compared to last year’s performance.
