SwissDevJobs.ch, a portal for IT job seekers in Switzerland, has released a report on the Swiss IT job market, called the Transparent IT Job Market Report. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the IT job market in Switzerland, including salary data, information on remote work, and opinions on the potential switch to a 4-day workweek.
The report is based on data from over 1,500 job offers on the SwissDevJobs.ch platform and a survey of IT specialists on social media channels with over 14,000 active followers.
the majority of employees would like to switch to a 4-day workweek
According to the report, 94 percent of respondents stated that they can work at least one day a week remotely, with 51 percent having the option to work entirely remotely. The flexibility of place and a lack of commute were among the main reasons cited for choosing remote work. However, the report also found that nearly half of the employees feel less connected to their coworkers when working remotely.
In addition to its findings on remote work, the report also found that the majority of employees would like to switch to a 4-day workweek. Over 75% of those who decided to relocate for a job reported being happy with their decision.
Recruitment Improvements Needed
The report also highlights the need for improvement in the recruitment process, with the lack of salary information being a common annoyance for job seekers. The average salary for a software developer in Switzerland was found to be CHF 105,000, with the highest average salaries in Zurich and Bern.
Overall, the Transparent IT Job Market Report for Switzerland offers valuable insights for companies, recruiters, and job seekers looking to better understand the reality of the Swiss job market.
