universityrankingsAccording to a survey done by Keystone Academic Solutions, a company located in Oslo specialized in higher education marketing, Switzerland ranked 2nd worldwide in enrolling foreign students in higher education programs, with a total of 225 top Masters programs between 2015 and 2016. Most of the subjects of studies seem to be related to management, business administration, banking, international relations, health care, finance, economy, hospitality management, communication and technology. The United Nations’ office is located in Switzerland for an obvious reason; it is a neutral, international and business-oriented country located in the center of Europe. With its strong and stable economy, it attracts people from all over the world.

The second reason why foreign students are attracted to higher degree programs in Switzerland is to have a better chance in the job market when competing against Swiss nationals, who have a lot more experience in navigating the local job market. Having a higher degree makes up for some of the lack of experience, and better arms foreign nationals in the face of some tough competition.

The third reason which leads to the creation of Master's level and other degrees is because local companies and international organizations have very high expectations of their employees.

Finally, being a service-based and multicultural country, local schools have an obligation to create and develop higher degree programs to support the needs of such a diverse and international market.

These are just a few reasons for the development and demands for higher education by foreign students in Switzerland. Students and parents know the opportunities are endless for well-qualified individuals in this country. Therefore, the universities and specialized schools have an obligation to create programs which prepare students to better serve the needs and the culture of international organizations who choose Switzerland.

  1. In my opinion Switzerland is a good place to live for people that appreciate cultural diversity.

It's good news that foreign students like to come to Switzerland for their studies and that way also further enrich the Swiss society.
